Choice eliminator
I love this one, I'm going to use it the next time I want to form groups for a project. I can allow students to pick areas of choice and it will be so much less work for me. Instead of having them indicate first and second choices and then me spending all the time matching them up, I can just limit the choices. Then it's first come, first served.
I also like the idea of using this one as an option for students to sign up for presentation times. Much less managing from me. I'm going to suggest it to the teachers at my site who are managing intermurals. They could use it for students to reserve basketball courts.
I can also see how it would be a great tool if you're using your survey as an rsvp form for a party, you could keep from having 8 people sign up to bring napkins!
Form Limiter
This seems like a nice idea at first, but it's not really super useful for me. It's fairly easy to go in and turn responses off at a certain time. I see where you could save yourself from having to get up to turn the form off, but as I've found before in the past with my ECHO assignments having cutoff times, there's always going to be someone (or many someones) who are late, and then can't participate, and if the prevailing wisdom now is that students can turn in anything at any point w/o being penalized for lateness, what's the point in having a cutoff time? I don't think I'll use this one much.
AutoCrat
The biggest hurdle here was that the tutorial video was done using the old version of forms. So I had to pause a lot and figure out the corresponding new move. When I first saw the video I thought, Oh no, this requires coding, but the double carrots were minimal enough for me to handle. I am imagining using this as a way for students to peer review each other. They could fill out the form I designed, and then autocrat will organize their submissions into a doc that can be shared with the presenter. I also like how autocrat runs automatically in the cloud every time someone fills out the form. This solves the problem that I had with Flubaroo. I don't have to go in and continually manage it.
