My school doesn't have a technology mission statement. Although since it has been designated a New Tech Network school the use of technology is heavily implied and encouraged. Technology is briefly mentioned by the district mission statement, but there's nothing concrete for me to latch on to. In reading my classmates blogs it seems that few schools and districts actually have technology mission statements. Our site spent A LOT of time talking about our Ideal Graduate, but next to none discussion mission statements. It's like we started our backwards planning at the end, but haven't yet backtracked to the beginning yet.
With regards to tech at our school site, in the last two years anything that we can do with technology, we've done so. Staff meetings are shared via google slideshows with interactive links so we can go back and access content, information gathering type communications have been done using google forms. Teachers even use google docs to collaborate while working in Professional Learning Communities. I use google docs to create classroom handouts, and as a way to organize class discussion to be referenced later.
I'm hoping that by the time I'm working under a technology mission statement, that my use will fit it. In particular, my capstone looks at the ways to encourage students to read, and exploring if technology can help that is one major thing I am looking at. My biggest struggle with technology is finding ways for it to be used in the classroom (preferably by students) in ways that are actually achievable. As opposed to looking fantastic when it's planned out in the lesson plan, and then not being able to make it work in the classroom, usually due to lack of technology and/or network access.
TPACK
My TPACK journey has been wildly enhanced by the innovative learning program. Overall I am pretty confident in my content knowledge. On the other hand my technology knowledge has been increased. We have been introduced to so many new tech tools that I am really excited about finding ways to really boost my TC classroom skills.
